Dads & Daughters.

Clearly Taylor inherited her good looks from me!

A couple of weeks back Chillertek, that poor Australian cousin from Road to Nowhere fame informed us of the birth of his new daughter.

I commented on his blog about a great thread that is on Adventure Rider.

I have become some what disillusioned with the motorbike forums here in NZ, they were once good but now seem full of arrogant/wannabe opinionated dickheads.  I do find the Adventure Rider forum useful and interesting.  I follow a lot of the ride reports.

This particular thread now runs to 177 pages long and is a must if you are a Dad.  It has some great pics which I am sure you will all enjoy. So poor yourself a wine, click on the link, and enjoying one of the most heart warming and enjoyable threads I have come across for a long time.  Some of the pics and comments are just terrific and heart warming.   So for my poor  Australian cousin here is the link....

Dads & Daughters.

(Deep down we love the Aussie's....but I need to keep up appearances)

  4. Great pics of you and Taylor. I think it is so great that your kids love to ride with you.

I don't know what it is about forums that people feel the need to be keyboard jockeys and act like asshats, but it is one of the reasons a group of local riders got together and created their own forum. It has it's issues but not like some as it is smaller.

ADVRider is one of the exceptions and sure has some great stuff on it. Thanks for the link.

  5. Thanks for the link and the plug Rog. Ditto on some of the people on the forums, as Trobairitz said they can be real asshats.

    1. Mate......

I have tasted Aussie beer.....or should I say that brown/insipid/tasteless watered down stuff that you guys call beer...........

    2. Watered down stuff aye. I seem to remember most kiwi beer is only 4% alcohol. Now for us alcoholics thats not good.

If you want to try a good aussie beer go and get your hands on James Boags Premium Lager. I quite liked Monteiths when I was in NZ.

  6. Roger:

you are lucky. Our's are grown up and no one in our household is interested in Motorcycles or biking. so enjoy your precious time while you can. I don't even have a riding buddy

  7. Bob: I am lucky to have a daughter that I intersact with so well. I will say it has taken me a long time to find friends and riding buddies who's company I enjoy do much.

That said, my times alone on the bike,me the open road..some times they are the best. It is during these times that i see the weorld differently.
