I like this...
I saw this pic on Face book, considering my last post, it touched a nerve.
It is Saturday night here, a hard day of house cleaning in prep for the sale..time for a Vodka..whooo
Have a good Saturday night, I'm envious, we're hoping to ride tomorrow and because of a zero alcohol limit I dont wanna risk having a cocktail. So you'll have to have one for me.
Hmm I replied to you with my phone this morning but I dont think it worked ...
But that's Ok cause I thought I was wrong but I wasn't .. nope, in NSW now it's zero limit (dunno when it changed cause I'm sure it used to be 0.02 for provisional) Lucky I checked before I tried to comment again.
I dont like to drink before I ride anyway as I need to concentrate and I get seedy after only a couple of drinks.
Tonight though is another story, I have tomorrow off and no plans ... wheee find me a cocktail ;-D
Why is it every time I see a joke on facebook about Vodka I think of you????
And yes, I think that photo is very appropriate. Isn't that why we are all working and saving our pennies - trying to buy that freedom to do fun things later on, or at least we hope too.
My Google Chrome browser has brought up the language translator at the top of the page saying " This page is in Romanian. Do you want to translate it?" Another "sign?".....
Roger, Seeing your photo and the caption brought back a memory that's stuck with me ever so clearly...I was in my mid-20's, after my first (and probably last??) retirement, parked at an overlook of Death Valley, California, one of the lowest places sea level-wise on the planet. An old guy stopped in a nice car, came over to say hello and we started talking. We talked, alone for over an hour, the only sounds on that nearby hill were ours. He described a lifetime of saving money, scrimping with things they wanted, both he and his wife with few goals other than retirement. They were both in their early 60's, his wife at work finishing a 50 hour week and never came home that Friday...she'd suffered a fatal heart attack. I'd be violating a confidence if I said more about what we'd talked about but I remember most of it very clearly. He left a big impression.
Good luck with your sale and more importantly, with all of your travels.
P.S. I'm being told this page looks Romanian as well :)
Funny. I was just reading some quotes from Christopher Reeve today. Something he said struck me similar: Either you decide to stay in the shallow end of the pool or you go out in the ocean.
P.S. - I meant to add ... as long as you have the air fare, you at least have many Canadian and American friends to put you up for a night or two along your journey on this continent.
Someone is trying to tell you something :-)
